Cakehouse
Kristen Couse, the woman behind Cakehouse, has always been more comfortable in a secondhand store than a department store, so it's no surprise that she couldn't wrap her brain around the thought of buying new fabrics to create her products. And so the idea of Cakehouse was born: Secondhand and vintage textiles given new life as handmade home goods. Kristen scours thrift shops and garage sales for appealing fabrics, and transforms them, with her 1965 sewing machine and her original silkscreened designs, into modern home accessories.
